Element451 is a SaaS marketing automation and CRM platform for colleges and universities. To support real-time analytics and student engagement, the company needed a better way to handle continuous data processing from MongoDB on AWS, replacing manual ETL, slow batch workflows, and error-prone change streams that were creating bottlenecks and technical debt.

Upsolver provided a streaming analytics solution that ingests MongoDB change streams through Amazon Kinesis, processes calculated fields and user traits in near real time, and writes results back to the CRM via Upsolver Lookup Tables. With Upsolver, Element451 reduced dependence on its core database, enabled self-service testing and management through a visual IDE, offloaded additional processes like identity stitching and deduplication to the data lake, and freed its engineering team to focus on core product work rather than pipeline maintenance.
