Amadeus, a global travel technology provider with a major data center in Germany, needed to increase rack density to add capacity without creating more hotspots. As cooling inefficiencies became a growing concern, the company looked for a way to improve airflow before investing in additional cooling equipment. Upsite Technologies’ KoldLok grommets were used to address the problem.

Upsite Technologies installed 130 KoldLok grommets to seal raised-floor cable openings and reduce bypass airflow. The project increased static pressure by 33%, allowed temperature set points to be lowered, and delivered €46,000 in energy savings in the first year. Amadeus also achieved full return on investment in just three months and avoided the cost of adding new cooling systems.
