Diamond in the Rough is a Webster City, Iowa baseball and softball training facility founded by Dave and Kim Stoakes that struggled with manual phone/in-person sign-ups, time-consuming payments, and disconnected admin tools. In 2017 they adopted Upper Hand’s all-in-one management platform for online event registration, scheduling, credit-card processing and membership management to centralize lifetime client interactions and simplify backend operations.

Upper Hand implemented a single software platform plus front-desk hardware, helped set up five membership tiers, streamlined check-in/booking and supported fast refunds and COVID-era operational changes (including member-only reservations). As a result, Diamond in the Rough has become the premier facility in North Central Iowa and is on track to surpass 2019 revenue by 27%, largely driven by membership growth enabled by Upper Hand.
