Moodzer, a mood board application started in 2013 by Trevor Greenleaf, needed to automate heavy image processing for large sets of images with a team of only two. Its core challenges included generating thumbnails to speed up page loads and extracting color patterns to power a “search by color” feature, and it had previously relied on custom scripts and cron jobs.
