Univision Communications (UCI) launched the nonpartisan Vote For Your America campaign to boost Hispanic, multicultural and millennial voter turnout in the 2016 primaries and general election. The campaign’s goals were to register 100,000 voters directly and enroll 100,000 new text subscribers to increase participation.

Working with partner organizations and using the Upland Mobile Messaging platform, Univision deployed personalized, timely text reminders, registration status updates, real-time voting help, mail-in ballot requests and nonpartisan encouragement from Univision talent. The effort directly registered over 200,000 people, gained 160,000 text subscribers (with 85% remaining active), and saw 84% of registered Latino subscribers vote—exceeding both goals and helping drive historic turnout.
