The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) needed to quickly mobilize supporters after Kohl’s was found selling raccoon dog fur as faux fur. Using Upland Software’s mobile messaging capabilities, HSUS promoted a text-to-action campaign to alert the public and drive calls to Kohl’s demanding the product be removed.
Upland Software helped HSUS send a keyword-based SMS campaign that reached supporters through mobile, social, and email channels. The effort generated 2,133 texts from social media, triggered a wave of calls that led Kohl’s to remove the fur coats from its website and issue a formal apology, and produced strong engagement rates across mobile and online alerts.
