RDO Equipment Co., a family-owned heavy equipment dealer founded in 1968 with more than 60 locations and 2,200 employees across nine states, struggled to support rapid growth with paper-based, manual accounts payable processes. The centralized AP team faced lost or delayed invoices and mounting document distribution challenges that paper and physical approvals couldn’t scale to meet.
RDO implemented Upland’s FileBound document and workflow automation to centralize invoice intake, give approvers at 60+ locations immediate electronic access, and automate approval workflows. The result: the AP team (about 12 people) now handles thousands of invoices monthly with only minimal headcount growth, hundreds of field employees use AP reports, late or lost payments have been reduced, paper has been eliminated, and FileBound has been extended across other business areas while remaining easy to administer.
