Get Schooled, a nonprofit focused on helping young people access higher education, faced a challenge reaching Hispanic teens with clear, accessible financial aid guidance. Previous outreach through Google Hangouts had low participation because students had to create accounts, schedule sessions, and return later, creating too many barriers to getting help.

Upland Software helped Get Schooled launch an Upland Mobile Messaging text hotline with Univision, letting students text “FAFSA” or “DINERO” to connect with financial aid experts in English or Spanish. The program exchanged more than 7,000 messages in two months, with 97% of respondents finding it helpful, and its success led to expansion into additional states.
