Food & Water Watch Experiences Huge List Growth

Food & Water Watch, a nonprofit that champions safe, accessible and sustainable food and water, wanted to turn the 2014 People’s Climate March — attended by over 400,000 people — into an opportunity to grow its mobile supporter list and drive engagement for its Ban Fracking campaign.

Volunteers handed out 10,000 flyers and carried signs reading “Text FRACK to 69866,” while media and social photos amplified the call to action. The effort generated over 900 mobile opt-ins in the week after the march (515 on day one and 423 in the following days), with 45% of new subscribers joining after seeing the campaign through other channels.
