A Upland Software Case Study
Food & Water Watch, a nonprofit campaigning to ban fracking, needed to generate concentrated call-in pressure on the White House. Their challenge was to make it easy for supporters to call Washington while giving staff reliable tracking and management (rather than relying on unreliable self-reporting).
Using Upland Mobile Messaging’s mConnect, they deployed five VoIP numbers across canvassing, email, Facebook, coalition partners and text, plus click-to-call, opt-in texts and voicemail capture to translate outreach into immediate action and targeted waves of calls. The effort produced thousands of calls (one day yielded 6,000), secured a White House meeting where they delivered recorded voicemails, and created detailed tracking data to identify and engage their most active advocates.
