Brady Campaign - Customer Case Study

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a nonprofit working to pass and protect sensible gun laws, needed to generate same-day constituent calls to several senators who had met with the corporate gun lobby. With only one day to act, the organization sought the most effective channels to maximize responsive engagement and drive as many calls as possible to targeted senators’ offices.

Using Upland Mobile Messaging, Brady activated SMS, email, and social channels with unique call-in numbers for each so they could directly compare performance. The SMS call-to-action outperformed email and social by 25–30×, drove more total calls than the much larger email list, produced over half the calls for each targeted senator, and helped generate thousands of constituent calls in a single day—informing Brady’s decision to prioritize and grow their texting program.
