MeetMe is a US-based social network for meeting new people on mobile (NASDAQ: MEET), with over one million daily active users and roughly 80% of traffic coming from mobile. Although MeetMe already had decent retention, the product team faced the ongoing challenge of reducing churn and keeping users returning regularly.
Using Localytics Predictions, MeetMe identified users at medium and high risk of churning and sent timely, personalized push campaigns that layered segmentation by country, language and prior feature engagement (e.g., profile photos, tags). In a single experiment measured by the share of users returning for three or more sessions, the targeted campaign improved retention by 11.9% versus a control group, creating more active and engaged users.
