Jana is a mobile technology platform that helps more than 30 million consumers in emerging markets discover apps and earn free data through its mCent app. Jana wanted to optimize push notification timing to boost engagement with mCent offers and needed a way to measure real impact beyond simple click rates.
Using Localytics and its True Impact metrics, Jana ran an experiment sending the same push at 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm and compared each to a no-message control. Messages sent at 8am produced the best result—a 5% lift in engagement (avg sessions per user in 7 days) and a 10% lift in conversions (offers started in 7 days)—so Jana will schedule future campaigns at 8am and continue testing to refine its messaging.
