Hopster is a UK-based freemium kids’ app offering safe, ad-free shows and learning games for toddlers and preschoolers. Because children are the primary users, Hopster’s challenge was converting parents to paid subscriptions through an age-locked “grown-ups” screen with a very limited window to act; their subscription conversion rates were lower than desired.
Using Localytics Funnels and app-version filtering, Hopster identified friction, simplified the grown‑ups entry process, and redesigned the grown‑ups screen to make the subscription option clearer. Those changes drove a 28 percentage-point increase in grown‑ups screen entry and more than doubled subscription conversion.
