Union Rescue Mission improves communication and transparency with UpKeep

Union Rescue Mission (URM), one of Los Angeles’s oldest and largest rescue missions, needed to replace an aging, custom in-house maintenance system and unsupported server infrastructure. With limited nonprofit resources and technicians who are often in the field, URM selected UpKeep’s web-based mobile solution to manage maintenance work orders, requests, ticketing and reporting so staff could submit and track jobs from phones rather than desktop-only legacy software.

UpKeep delivered an easy-to-use mobile CMMS with a customizable request portal (even adapted to manage the motor pool), smooth onboarding, and dashboards that surface KPIs and ticket status for about 11 maintenance techs and roughly 200 requesters. The result was faster, more transparent communication, reduced manual labor, on-the-go visibility of assignments, and measurable cost savings from eliminating legacy server overhead, security risk (Windows 2003 servers) and printing/manual ticketing — all enabled by UpKeep.
