Mining Company increases plant availability by 5%

Leading Mining Company, a North American plant of a global mining consumables and media manufacturer, faced labor-intensive, paper- and Excel-based maintenance processes that led to missed dates, reactive firefighting, and short-term fixes. To modernize its maintenance operations it selected UpKeep’s asset operations management system to automate work orders, track assets, and manage spare parts.

UpKeep streamlined work orders (including mobile and offline entry), introduced trigger reminders and analytics, and enabled a shift from reactive to preventive and predictive maintenance while highlighting repeat-offender equipment. As a result, the facility’s online availability improved by about 5%—saving an estimated $40,000–$50,000—reduced contractor spend by freeing internal technicians for higher-value work, and delivered measurable operational visibility and recognition across the company.
