A UpKeep Case Study
Columbia Fruit, a fruit packing and distribution company, was operating with an antiquated, pen-and-paper maintenance system that left spare parts untracked, technicians overordering, and most maintenance reactive rather than planned. To address this, Columbia Fruit selected UpKeep’s mobile-first solution to organize technician work, create an accurate parts inventory, and enable preventive maintenance.
UpKeep deployed mobile work orders, QR codes on assets, inventory tracking, meters for hours-based scheduling, and reporting tools. Just over a dozen technicians have been added so far, inventory accuracy is improving, and Columbia Fruit has reduced wasted parts and overstock while establishing preventive-maintenance routines (for example, greasing equipment every 5,000 hours). UpKeep also simplified audits and provided analytics that help management track work, downtime, and parts usage—delivering measurable cost savings and more proactive maintenance.
