Danone Waters China, maker of Mizone, Health and Yili and part of the Danone Group, needed a trade spend and sales planning system that could handle the complexity of the Chinese market and be available in Chinese. After a six-month pre-assessment they selected UpClear’s web-based BluePlanner to meet local requirements and unify trade promotion management across business units.
UpClear supported deployment by opening a Hong Kong office and configuring BluePlanner with minimal development to accommodate language needs and a distribution network of 1,500 distributors serving tens of thousands of retailers. The UpClear implementation enabled a rapid, cost-effective roll-out (deployed in January 2012) while maintaining a consistent application across Danone business units.
