Millennium bcp, Portugal's largest private-sector bank, faced challenges with infrastructure state drift and inefficiency. Despite having modern Terraform modules and automation, internal customer requests for new environments were still queued, creating a bottleneck. The bank partnered with vendor Upbound to adopt a Crossplane-based control plane solution to address these issues without a full rip-and-replace of their existing infrastructure.

By implementing Upbound's Universal Crossplane (UXP), Millennium bcp leveraged their current Terraform modules to create a Kubernetes-native internal cloud platform. The solution reduced their environment provisioning time from an 8-day SLA to just minutes. This saved over 15,500 developer hours and 6,000 SRE hours annually, resulting in massive operational cost reductions and the elimination of thousands of production hours.
