A UNTHA Case Study
Topi-Keittiöt Oy, a large Finnish manufacturer of kitchen and bathroom furniture, faced challenges with its previous shredder, which could not efficiently process all of its residual wood products like panels and pallets. This led to costly disposal. The company required a holistic and efficient shredding solution capable of handling all its wood waste and operating reliably in Finland's harsh, cold climate, prompting them to turn to UNTHA.
UNTHA implemented an LR1400 shredder customized with a special hopper, a pipe magnet for metal separation, and critical low-temperature equipment to ensure smooth operation in temperatures as low as -25° C. The resulting wood chips are now used for heating by the company and local farms, ensuring the residual wood is fully utilized. The proven performance of other nearby UNTHA shredders in the same climate was a key factor in the customer's decision.
