A UNTHA Case Study
The Royal Mint, the official maker of UK coins, faced the challenge of efficiently recovering precious metals from electronic waste. Their requirements included the need for robust machinery to shred printed circuit boards for a new, multi-million-pound e-waste facility. To meet these needs, they partnered with UNTHA for shredding technology.
UNTHA implemented a solution utilizing three RS30 shredders to break down circuit boards into precise particles for separation. This supported The Royal Mint's groundbreaking facility, which is capable of processing 4,000 tonnes of circuit boards annually and recovers over 99% of the gold. The UNTHA shredders were seamlessly integrated into the complex processing line, aiding the client's ambitious circular economy goals.
