Case Study: Raiffeisenverband Salzburg achieves efficient pallet shredding with UNTHA's LR1400 solution

A UNTHA Case Study

Preview of the Raiffeisenverband Salzburg (rvs) Case Study

Raiffeisenverband Salzburg processes 40–50 pallets per load with UNTHA

The Raiffeisenverband Salzburg (RVS), operator of a large central warehouse, faced the challenge of sustainably recycling approximately 700-800 tonnes of pallets and packaging wood annually. They required an energy-efficient shredding solution capable of processing bulky material, insensitive to impurities, and equipped with metal separation and conveying technology. This led them to partner with UNTHA for a shredding system.

UNTHA implemented an LR1400 shredder equipped with a special hopper for forklift feeding, a conveyor belt with a magnetic separator, and a central lubrication system. This solution processes up to 40-50 pallets per hour into a homogeneous granulate, which is then sent for thermal processing in a biomass cogeneration plant. The UNTHA system provided RVS with an efficient, low-maintenance method to achieve their sustainability goals for waste wood recycling.
