Preview of the Penzkofer Bau GmbH Case Study

Penzkofer Bau GmbH recycles residual wood with three UNTHA shredders, including 600–800 kg/h throughput

Penzkofer Bau GmbH, a German construction company, needed new shredding solutions to handle large scrap wood created by the expansion of its automated timber production lines. The challenge was to integrate powerful, safe, and energy-efficient shredders from UNTHA that could process over 600-800 kg per hour into their existing Holmag, Hundegger, and TechnoWood systems.

UNTHA installed two LR1000 shredders and one larger LR1400 model, which were integrated into the automated lines, often in space-saving pits. The shredders start and stop automatically to save energy and are equipped with safety mechanisms. The resulting wood chips are classified and then used to fuel the company's in-house heating system, ensuring full material utilization.
