LOC Holz processes 50,000 m³ of CLT elements with UNTHA

LOC Holz GmbH, a producer of cross-laminated timber, faced the challenge of efficiently managing the large volume of residual wood generated daily at its plant. The company required a reliable shredding solution capable of a high throughput to handle multi-shift operation and integrate seamlessly into their complex production system. They turned to vendor UNTHA for a solution.

UNTHA implemented two LR1400 shredders, one integrated into an automated conveyor system and another in a pit for manual and automated loading. The shredders met the required throughput, featured automated lubrication to minimize maintenance, and the shredded wood chips were partially used for in-house thermal energy. LOC Holz selected UNTHA based on the shredders' efficiency, optimal integrability, and the best value for money, confirming the quality of the solution through smooth commissioning and reliable operation.
