Dubai Future Foundation, through its One Million Arab Coders initiative, needed to quickly mobilize its network of coders during the COVID-19 lockdown to generate solutions for urgent regional challenges. They partnered with Untap Technologies to launch a fully online hackathon, using Untap’s platform and support for website setup, applications, judging, and participant communications.

Untap Technologies helped design and launch the hackathon in just one week, handling the concept, branding, website, application forms, judging criteria, mentor and judge management, and community communication tools. The event delivered strong results: more than 3,000 registrants, over 1,200 submissions, participants from 45 countries, 60 mentors and judges, over 100 hours of mentorship, and 5 winning teams awarded a total of $50,000 in prizes.
