How Nationwide are driving cultural change around mental health

Nationwide Building Society wanted to drive cultural change around mental health and support its 18,000+ employees through the disruption of COVID-19. To do this they partnered with Unmind and launched the Unmind workplace mental health platform in May 2020 to empower colleagues, reduce stigma and increase awareness and adoption of mental health resources.

Working with the Unmind Client Success team, Nationwide combined the platform with an integrated communications programme—internal radio, leadership newsletters and webinars, bespoke webcast ads, weekly user stories, quarterly campaigns (e.g., Healthy Body Healthy Mind) and the Plus One sharing feature. The approach delivered measurable impact: 35.5% uptake of Unmind within six months and nearly a 50% increase in Series engagement during campaign activity, driving tangible cultural change around mental health.
