How Gymshark Got Proactive About Mental health

Gymshark, the fast‑growing fitness apparel scale‑up, faced fluctuating workloads around peak retail periods (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, summer sales) that increased stress and placed pressure on employee wellbeing. To proactively build resilience and give its largely millennial workforce access to evidence‑based mental health support, Gymshark launched the Unmind workplace mental health platform in April 2019.

Unmind delivered a scientifically backed platform of Series content plus hands‑on support from its Client Success team and measurement tools to create an organisational mental wellbeing index. In the first nine months Gymshark achieved a 60% sign‑up rate, around 20% consistent monthly engagement and 87% of employees rated Series as “Good” or “Excellent”; targeted campaigns like “Food to Boost Mood” drove a 166% rise in active users, a 102% increase in Series users and 44% engagement with that Series.
