A Universal Robots Case Study
Vinacomin Motor Industry Joint Stock Company (VMIC), a Vietnam-based subsidiary of the Vinacomin Group, needed to improve low productivity and inconsistent product quality caused by heavy reliance on manual processes in its spare parts manufacturing operations. The company worked with vendor Universal Robots and deployed UR10e cobots to modernize production.
Universal Robots helped VMIC automate pick-and-place and machine-tending tasks with two UR10 cobots, integrated by local partners. The solution boosted productivity by 2 to 3 times, improved quality consistency, and increased orders by 50–60%, while also allowing some staff to move to higher-value work. VMIC also expected a return on investment within one to two years.
