Verus Digital GmbH creates 20µm 3D models with Universal Robots

Verus Digital GmbH, a startup specializing in high-precision 3D digitization systems for cultural heritage and forensics, faced the challenge of capturing complex and fragile artifacts with repeatable accuracy. Conventional handheld scanners produced inconsistent results and required extensive manual post-processing. To increase quality and efficiency, they turned to vendor Universal Robots for an automated solution using cobots.

The solution implemented used Universal Robots' UR10e and UR20 cobots as the core of Verus Digital's CultArm3D system. This automated system captures objects with a high-precision camera, adapts to their shape, and generates color-accurate 3D models. The result was a process that is three times more efficient than manual methods, allowing museums to cost-effectively digitize entire collections while ensuring the safe handling of valuable artifacts.
