UR5 Allows Employees at Schneider Electric to Focus on Creative Tasks Through Automating Repetitive Processes

Schneider Electric, a global energy and automation company, needed to improve efficiency at its Bulgaria plant in Plovdiv while reducing non-ergonomic, repetitive, and boring tasks for operators. To address this challenge, Schneider Electric worked with Universal Robots and deployed UR5 collaborative robots to support its MCB production process.

Universal Robots’ UR5 cobots were implemented to pick and place power breakers and boxes, manage tray loading and unloading, alert operators for changeovers, and handle stop requests safely. The solution shortened production time, improved flexibility, and freed employees to focus on quality and more creative work, with an estimated return on investment of about 24 months.
