A Universal Robots Case Study
TCI New Zealand, one of the largest plastic injection molding companies in New Zealand, needed a more cost-effective way to keep its EsiYo Yoghurt Maker production running around the clock. To reduce dependence on two employees working 12-hour shifts and avoid production stoppages caused by human-related factors, the company looked for an automated solution and turned to Universal Robots.
Universal Robots implemented two collaborative robotic arms, the UR3 and UR5, to handle labeling and assembly tasks, with initial programming support from Design Energy. The solution delivered more consistent production, freed staff for less repetitive work, reduced costs, and enabled 24/7 automated manufacturing with quick setup and easy reprogramming in just minutes.
