Ur10 Cobots Address Labor Shortages And Reduce Routine Work

BAUMRUK & BAUMRUK s.r.o., a Czech engineering manufacturer, needed a way to better use its staff and increase production while automating the loading of smaller parts into milling centers. Because the workplace was tight and had to remain accessible to both robots and human operators, the company needed a flexible solution that would reduce repetitive work without requiring fencing or major safety changes. Universal Robots’ UR10 cobots fit the need.

Universal Robots implemented two UR10 cobots for alternate loading of small parts into CNC machines, using pneumatic and magnetic end-effectors. BAUMRUK & BAUMRUK was able to build and deploy the application quickly, with workers training in the UR Academy and developing the first application within hours; once prepared, the robot deployment took just a few days. The result was reduced routine work, safe shared use with human operators, and a projected ROI of about 9 months under full-load, two-shift operation.
