Ur10 Cobot Palletizes 1,200 Package Units Per Shift and Increases Process Efficiency

Gustav Hensel GmbH und Co, a medium-sized manufacturer of cable junction boxes, wanted to automate the final palletizing step in production to improve efficiency and reduce the physical strain on employees. The company needed a solution that allowed direct access to the work area and had the right reach and payload, making a collaborative robot from Universal Robots a strong fit.

Universal Robots, working with partner Dahl Automation, implemented a UR10 cobot to palletize packed boxes as part of a fully automated assembly and packaging line. The system was set up in just five days and now runs in two shifts, palletizing around 1,200 package units per 8-hour shift, handling four carton sizes, and freeing employees for more value-adding tasks.
