Universal Robots quadruples injection molding output at Dynamic Group

Dynamic Group, a plastics and polymers manufacturer in North America, struggled to staff its injection molding production and keep up with fast-paced, repetitive handling tasks. The company needed a flexible automation solution that could support high-mix, low-volume work without requiring expensive programming or fixed automation, and it turned to Universal Robots and its UR10 collaborative robot.

Universal Robots installed three UR10 cobots across injection molding and kitting applications, where they handled machine tending, part transfer, degating, palletizing, and box packing. The result was a major productivity gain: Dynamic Group increased production capacity by up to 400%, cut scrap from significantly high levels to near zero, reduced staffing needs from six to seven employees in kitting to as few as two, and achieved a return on investment in under two months.
