Paradigm Electronics, a North American manufacturer of high-performance loudspeakers and subwoofers, needed a way to keep up with demand for its labor-intensive “Midnight Cherry” finish. The company struggled to find enough skilled workers for the repeated sanding and buffing required between lacquer layers, creating a production bottleneck in its polishing process.

Paradigm Electronics implemented a Universal Robots UR10 collaborative robot to assist in polishing, allowing human operators and the robot to work in the same workspace with adjustable force control.
