Universal Robots Enables Xiamen Runner Industrial Corporation To Achieve Flexible Manufacturing

Xiamen Runner Industrial Corporation, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of bathroom accessories and auto parts in China, was looking to improve production efficiency, flexibility, and reliability while reducing the safety and yield risks caused by manual operations and operator fatigue. To address these challenges, the company turned to Universal Robots and its UR3, UR5, and UR10 cobots.

Universal Robots implemented 64 collaborative robots across 10 applications, including injection molding, machine tending, gas testing, product assembly, vision-guided pick and place, packaging, and palletizing. The solution was deployed quickly and flexibly, with Runner noting that new projects could be up and running in about a week versus up to six months for traditional robots; the result was higher product yield, better use of staff, and improved competitiveness for Universal Robots’ customer.
