A Universal Robots Case Study
Talbot Technologies, a New Zealand-based plastic manufacturer, needed a more versatile and effective automation solution for a highly complex in-mold labelling process. After an unsuccessful attempt with a fixed rail robot, the company turned to Universal Robots and its UR10 cobot to help streamline production and reduce reliance on manual handling.
Universal Robots implemented two flexible, six-axis UR10 robots that were programmed for in-mould modelling, transfer moulding, and co-moulding tasks. The solution improved process flow, boosted product quality, and delivered a solid return on investment within 12 months, with Talbot Technologies noting that it could produce the desired output consistently every time.
