PLC Industries, a precision engineering service provider in Singapore, faced a skilled labor shortage along with rising material and real estate costs. The company needed a way to improve production efficiency in a confined work area while keeping employees safe around nearby machines. Universal Robots’ UR10 cobots were selected to help automate CNC machine tending.

Universal Robots implemented two UR10 collaborative robots at PLC Industries’ production site, enabling safe operation without safety guarding and easy programming for flexible deployment. As a result, one worker can now attend to four CNC machines, output increased by 40%, and production variety improved. The automation also delivered a 12-month payback period, while reducing fatigue and improving focus for employees.
