Prysm Industries, a family-run plastic injection moulding business in Dandenong, Victoria, wanted to improve the consistency and quality of its production while reducing repetitive manual work for staff. It partnered with Universal Robots and selected a UR5 collaborative robot to automate label application, a task that had previously been handled by skilled operators every 6–7 seconds.

Universal Robots implemented the UR5 cobot to handle Prysm Industries’ labelling projects, with training and support provided through local distributor Sensorplex. The result was better product consistency, increased productivity, and happier employees who could focus on running more machines; Prysm reported daily savings of about $550 in labelling costs and estimated the robot paid for itself in under 12 months.
