Fluidics Instruments, a Dutch manufacturer of oil burner components, faced high-mix/low-volume production, a shortage of skilled workers, and quality issues when trying to outsource production. To keep up with changing demand while maintaining “Made in the Netherlands” quality, the company turned to Universal Robots cobots, including UR3, UR5, UR10, and UR5e models.

Universal Robots helped Fluidics Instruments automate flexible production with a fleet of 12 cobots, including seven UR3s working together on an assembly line for oil nozzles, mobile UR5 and UR10 workstations for pick-and-place, and a UR5e with vision for CNC machine tending. The result was higher efficiency, improved flexibility, and continued growth in production and sales, with the nozzle line reaching 1,000 nozzles per hour.
