Endutec Uses a UR Cobot to Keep Machines Working at Full Capacity

Endutec, a special machine manufacturer in Europe, needed a way to keep its CNC machines running at full capacity after investing in its own equipment to reduce reliance on purchased parts and improve quality. However, due to labor shortages, the company could not staff a second shift, leaving the night shift unfilled. Universal Robots’ UR10e cobot was selected to help address this challenge.

Universal Robots helped Endutec automate CNC machine loading with a flexible, space-saving loading station built by the customer. The UR10e picks workpieces from a rack, loads and unloads the CNC machine, and uses an integrated force-torque sensor for precise part insertion. The result was higher machine utilization, night-shift automation, less repetitive work for employees, and more time for skilled workers to set up new CNC programs; Endutec also noted that the cobot was used even more than initially planned.
