AN Easy Programmable Robotic Arm That Helps The Employees

BOOG Machining Company, a small metal and machining business in France, needed an automation solution that could be quickly programmed, easily redeployed, and suited to short production runs. The company also wanted to reduce repetitive manual work and improve employee safety. Universal Robots provided a UR5 collaborative robot for CNC machine tending and handling small parts.

Universal Robots’ UR5 streamlined machine loading and unloading, allowing BOOG to shift from constant monitoring to loading the machine every three hours and freeing employees for other value-added tasks. The robots also reduced the risk of injury from sharp parts and improved operational efficiency, with all operators trained in just half a day. Since the first installation in 2011, BOOG added two more UR5 units, and the solution delivered a payback period of 365 days.
