Gemini Poland scales to 300 pharmacies with Unity Group

Gemini Poland, one of the largest healthcare e-commerce platforms in Poland, partnered with Unity Group to address performance issues during peak traffic and to expand beyond a traditional online pharmacy. Their challenge was to support ambitious growth plans and create a comprehensive health portal that could offer products, expert knowledge, and consultations, which legal restrictions on standard online pharmacies prevented.

Unity Group implemented a new e-commerce platform using Spryker technology on AWS cloud infrastructure, later expanding it into a health portal with a marketplace module. This solution included a Pimcore PIM system and a Strapi CMS for content. The results included a vastly improved user experience, a scalable platform that handles high traffic, a wider product assortment, and new features like a pharmacist consultation service, solidifying Gemini Poland's market leadership.
