Unitrends and Scale Computing Team Up Computing and Data Protection for TESC Contracting Company

TESC Contracting Company is a Sudbury, Ontario–based construction firm focused on the mining sector with multiple dispersed sites, many as small as mine-site trailers. With a single systems administrator supporting a highly virtualized mix of CentOS, Debian and Windows servers, the primary challenge was managing constant change and maintaining reliable IT services across remote locations without on-site IT staff.

TESC deployed Scale Computing’s HC3 hyperconverged platform for simplified, scalable compute and Unitrends Recovery Series 814S for advanced backup and disaster recovery. The combined solution added snapshots, replication, granular single-item restores, long-term retention and DRaaS, stabilizing the infrastructure, simplifying administration and enabling rapid restores (under five minutes for typical file recoveries), while protecting against accidental deletes and multi-site failures.
