Pearl River County, Mississippi, working with local MSP Data Star and on-site IT administrator Jesse Taylor, was facing uncertainty over the reliability of its backups for virtualized servers, NAS devices and critical county records. With mission‑critical maps, court documents and years of administrative data at risk, the county needed a dependable, easy-to-manage recovery solution.

Pearl River deployed a Unitrends Recovery Series 824S appliance in 2018 and added RXDA removable media for off‑site protection; when four drives failed in 2019 putting nearly 7 TB at risk, the appliance fully restored more than 20 years of data and enabled rapid recovery of services. The county has since expanded protection to additional servers, gained daily removable backups stored securely, and achieved reliable, full data protection and operational resilience.
