BlackLine, a Woodland Hills–based provider of cloud software that automates the financial close for nearly 200,000 users in 150+ countries, needed to modernize infrastructure to keep pace with rapid growth. Their prior stack (Cisco UCS, NetApp and Datto) proved administratively heavy across two data centers, and Datto’s requirement to use its cloud conflicted with BlackLine’s existing cloud strategy.

BlackLine moved to Nutanix Acropolis with AHV and deployed two Unitrends Recovery Series 823S appliances—one in the remote data center and one at headquarters—to provide native, agentless protection and cross-site replication. The integrated Nutanix‑Unitrends solution simplified administration, enabled rapid file recovery and full disaster recovery, and delivered strong support from Unitrends, turning a once-complex recovery process into a quick, reliable operation.
