How Chromatic Streamlined Open-Source Development with Asana and GitHub

Chromatic, the team behind the open-source tool Storybook and the Chromatic platform, needed a better way to manage development work across multiple GitHub repositories and Asana projects. As open-source contributions scaled to hundreds or thousands of collaborators, their engineering manager struggled with duplicated effort and constant back-and-forth between tools.

Using Unito, Chromatic built automated, two-way workflows between Asana projects and GitHub milestones so issues and tasks stayed in sync automatically. Unito also let the team control what information was shared through rules and filters. The result was $119K saved annually and 1,456 hours saved, with engineers able to track work in Asana without hunting through GitHub.
