Green Bay Packers - Customer Case Study

The Green Bay Packers, a community-owned NFL franchise, faced extreme seasonal swings in voice and data demand—especially on game days when 80,000 fans converge on Lambeau Field—and were struggling with call-center bottlenecks, E911 concerns and a lack of disaster recovery. Seeking to migrate to SIP while keeping local support, the Packers chose Windstream Enterprise to address their high-volume, high-variability communications needs using Dynamic IP, Managed Router services and a fiber build to both locations.

Windstream Enterprise implemented point-to-point fiber with SIP-based trunking, Dynamic IP and direct trunk overflow (DTO) redundancy, delivering 1 Gbps at Lambeau Field and 10 Mbps at the Packers Pro Shop call center. The solution eliminated peak-period bottlenecks, provided bandwidth flexibility and multi-location survivability for business continuity, and consolidated services under Windstream Enterprise for simpler management and greater resilience.
