A United Living Group Case Study
Sofia Offshore Wind Farm needed major water mains diversions and related enabling works to support the early stages of its offshore wind development at Dogger Bank, ahead of construction of the onshore converter station. United Living Group, through its Fastflow Group subsidiary, was contracted in December 2020 to deliver the water infrastructure works as part of the project’s early works.
United Living Group carried out the water pipe installation, chlorination, pressure testing, reinforced concrete thrust blocks, deep excavations, trenching and pipework welding through its Water, Civils, Pipeline Services and Energy Services teams. The work was completed on budget and on time, with 16 staff involved at peak, helping ensure the site was ready for the next phase of construction and supporting a project expected to generate enough electricity for almost 1.2 million homes and save more than 2.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions per year.
