Lewisham Homes - Customer Case Study

Lewisham Homes worked with United Living Group to address serious building safety concerns at Hatfield Close and Gerrard House in Lewisham, London, after the cladding on three 13-storey tower blocks failed non-combustibility tests following the Grenfell tragedy. The challenge was to remove unsafe materials and improve resident safety while minimizing disruption and keeping residents informed throughout the project.

United Living Group replaced the combustible cladding with non-combustible A1 fire-rated terracotta cladding and carried out extensive fire safety and refurbishment works, including smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, automatic opening vents, new windows, doors, balconies, and structural improvements. The project was completed in 2022 as a £22.5 million scheme, won two National Building and Construction Awards in 2021, and delivered lasting benefits for residents through strong community engagement, social value initiatives, and improved confidence in the safety and quality of their homes.
